DMACC offers RN to BSN 3+1 degree programs through partnerships including the University of Iowa. DMACC nursing students can seamlessly finish their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in only one year, either on campus or online, while continuing to work in central Iowa. Grads with a BSN will discover expanded career opportunities, higher pay potential, workplace rewards, and more. And they will be well-equipped to deliver excellent health care people need.
The University of Iowa accepts all DMACC Nursing credits. DMACC is the first community college nursing program to implement Iowa Consortium for Advancing Nursing Education (ICANE) recommendations toward the BSN.

University of Iowa
Through the RN-BSN 3+1 agreement between DMACC and the University of Iowa:
- Nursing students can stay at DMACC for three years, then complete their BSN degree in only one year through the University of Iowa's online program, allowing them to stay in central Iowa and work.
- DMACC Nursing graduates who are working can also come back to DMACC, take an additional year, then transfer to the University of Iowa for their final year to complete their BSN.
- DMACC Nursing students who have at least a 3.0 grade point average (G.P.A.), have successfully completed their DMACC nursing requirements, and are on the BSN nursing track will automatically be accepted into the University of Iowa's BSN program, where they can complete their final year of studies. Others can be admitted based on their application.
The University of Iowa’s Nursing program is approved by the Iowa Board of Nursing and nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
