This course is intended to assist candidates who are preparing for the fundamentals of surveying exam. Class material will cover the NCEES study areas.
Topics will include: survey math; statistical analysis of measurements; acquisition of field data; traverse computations; horizontal and vertical curves; boundary law and cadastral surveys; topographic; aerial & GIS mapping and surveying geodesy.

This course is intended to assist candidates who are preparing for the Principles and Practice of Surveying (PS) examination. Class material will cover both the NCEES 6-hour PS examination and the 2-hour Iowa state specific examination.
Topics will include: Public Land Survey System, boundary law principles, survey standards and specifications; land descriptions; professional survey practices including research, field procedures, calculations and documentation; Iowa State specific review; preparing and taking the exam.

CET 265, Land Surveying, is an 8-week online credit course that runs from Oct 18 – Dec 14.
Course Description: This course applies the survey principles and procedures covered in Surveying Fundamentals and Engineering Surveying to boundary and property land surveys. Topics include: real property land descriptions; analysis of errors; survey standards; state and local laws relating to land surveying; application of boundary law principles; the Public Land Survey System; and surveyor ethics.
Course Cost: Online tuition is $208/credit hour, for a total of $624 for this course.
