DMACC English Department

Welcome to the DMACC English Department

Our writing preparation, composition, literature, technical writing, and creative writing courses are designed to assist you in your course work at DMACC and in your career. We serve you through face-to-face, web-enhanced, web-blended, and online classes. We pair English courses with other courses in Learning Communities and offer English courses in the London Study Abroad Program. Our courses are also offered at DMACC Career Academies and through the Post Secondary Enrollment Option.

In our writing preparation courses, you will review skills that will prepare you for writing in English and other courses. In our composition and technical writing courses, you will learn to write for a variety of purposes and audiences as well as practice critical reading and thinking skills. In our literature courses, you will survey a wide array of literature and be introduced to the basics of critical theory. In our creative writing courses, you will explore writing fiction, poetry, play, and screen writing.

We are a vibrant department with diverse, energetic, and caring instructors who are interested in promoting lifelong learning. Please let us know if you have any questions or if we can assist you in any way.
