The DMACC Urban Prairie consists of over 30 native plant gardens scattered across the Urban Campus. These plantings offer a glimpse back in time to what Iowa’s landscape looked like just a few hundred years ago. Consisting of a diversity of native plants and grasses, the Urban Prairie not only provides educational opportunities to our campus and community but provides vital ecosystem services as well.
