DMACC Security on the Ankeny and Urban campuses is happy to provide general vehicle assistance. Calls for assistance with car problems on the Ankeny Campus should be directed to Security @ 6500 or 964-6500 or the Physical Plant at extension 6253. At the Urban Campus, contact Campus Safety at extension 7200.
For battery jumpstarts, Security will not provide any mechanical tools or technical mechanical knowledge for starting cars. Security will assist in calling a towing company, assist in calling someone to arrange for transportation, and allow the driver and occupants to enter a building to escape any inclement conditions. A signed release will be obtained from the driver by Security before work is performed.
If Security is unable to unlock a car, they will assist in calling a locksmith and arranging transportation. A signed release will be obtained from the driver by Security before work is performed. In addition, Security will provide a tank of compressed air to inflate a low tire.
Assistance for any other type of auto service, i.e., tire changes, push starts, defective equipment, etc., should be referred to a service station or garage.
