Area employers need skilled technicians to repair and maintain gas and diesel power equipment like:

    • Motorcycles
    • Snowblowers
    • Lawn tractors
    • Golf and turf mowers
    • ATVs and UTVs
    • Chainsaws and generators
    • Diesel-powered equipment such as mini-excavators, forklifts, skid steers, and wheel loaders

Program Highlights

  • Gain​ hands-on power equipment technology experience in the classroom and lab.
    • Electric systems, hydraulics, fuels, and powertrains
    • Gasoline and diesel equipment, including residential and powersports, as well as commercial and light construction equipment
  • Apply your knowledge during paid internships (apprenticeships) working in Central Iowa dealerships and service facilities.
  • Earn an AAS (Associate of Applied Science Degree) degree in as few as 5 terms (21 months). 

Location and Start Date

  • Hands-on technical courses are taught at the CITECenter, located on the Central Iowa Expo Farm Progress Grounds, 4 miles east of Boone just off Hwy 30.
  • General education classes are taught face-to-face on the Boone Campus.
  • Program starts Fall Semester (late August). ​
