STEM Seminars

Education is constantly changing to meet the new demands for success after school. Teachers need to stay current in their practices and knowledge over these current educational trends to provide the most effective classroom experience for their students. DMACC's Pre-Education Program provides several opportunities for students interested in teaching to attend STEM seminars. These seminars engage students in learning about many STEM related topics such as current Scale Up projects in the state, ways to collaborate with local business and industry, and the importance of STEM training for future educators. Some of the past seminars have included:

  • Engineering is Elementary Curriculum infused into the Foss Science Curriculum
  • CASE ~ Curriculum for Agriculture Science Education
  • The World in Motion Curriculum
  • How IPTV network collaborates with K-12 educators on STEM
  • Project Lead the Way Gateway to Technology Project on Design, Modeling, Automation and Robotics
  • Science Center of Iowa~ How the Science Center can assist you in teaching STEM concepts in your classroom.
