Dental Assistant Program

 

The DMACC Dental Assistant Diploma program prepares the students, as a member of the dental health team, to assist the dentist in all phases of dentistry. The program includes general and specialty dentistry, chairside procedures, radiology, and laboratory and business office assisting.

An integral part of the educational program is clinical experience; this is provided by rotation through various dental facilities.

The program in dental assisting is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation [and has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements”]. The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The DMACC Dental Assistant Diploma Program adheres to DMACC's Bloodborne pathogen policy.

This program may be taken on a full-time basis and runs one full year August-August.
