The academic calendar is part of the contract for regular faculty. Duty days are marked on the calendar and it is the College's expectation that individual faculty will be present on duty days. The same applies to scheduled final exam days. Any modification of the academic calendar or final exam schedule must be with the permission of the appropriate Academic Dean or Provost. Otherwise, an amount equal to the pay for one day of service will be deducted from the salary of the faculty member for each day of service not performed, if the absence is not authorized by the Board's leave policies. Note that in some cases, evening sections of classes are scheduled to have their final exams the week before the day class final exams. The evening finals are given at the end of 15 weeks during the traditional fall or spring terms.
