An excited audience, filled with family members and friends, looks on as more than 1,000 new DMACC graduates are honored during the 2024 DMACC Metro Commencement Ceremony on Wed., May 1st, at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The DMACC Metro Commencement ceremony, held every Spring, recognizes students graduating from the College's AnkenyNewton, ​Urban (Des Moines)​ ​​and West Des Moines Campuses, as well as graduating DMACC Online students.

McMorran, who will celebrate her 72nd birthday on May 12th, is a lifelong learner with a passion for helping others. She took her first classes at DMACC in 1974 while studying computer literacy at the College's Urban Campus in Des Moines. And now, as a newly minted DMACC graduate, she said she hopes to find a position working as a Patient Access Specialist at a local hospital. Patient Access Specialists serve as an initial point of contact for registering patients when they enter a health care facility and as an advocate for both the patient and the organization.​

The UNI@DMACC partnership offers a variety of online degree completion programs and could be a great fit for you!

Join us for one of our UNI@DMACC Virtual Information Sessions this summer to learn more about how you can earn your bachelor's degree through the UNI@DMACC partnership. During these sessions, representatives from UNI Admissions and Online & Distance Education, as well as program advisors from departments across UNI, will share information about the flexible online delivery, degree program options and available scholarship opportunities available through the UNI@DMACC partnership. Sessions will be conducted via Zoom and will last approximately 60 minutes, with time for questions included.

May 9th: Latino Family Night Event at Urban Campus

The DMACC Urban Campus will host a Latino Family Night event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thur., May 9th, in the Student Life & STEM Center (Bldg. #7) at the Urban Campus. The event will be conducted primarily in Spanish and will offer a great opportunity to explore the DMACC admissions process, academic options, financial aid and​ the abundant resources that DMACC offers​ to ​help ensure student success. There is NO COST to attend and all are welcome!
