DMACC to Host Ribbon Cutting & Dedication Ceremony for New Water Environmental Technology (WET) Lab

​Ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony willing feature Miller family who made the major donation to the project

WHO:

The Miller Family, owners and operators of Electric Pump company of Des Moines, have donated $285,000 to build a new, state-of-the-art Water Lab on the DMACC Ankeny Campus. On Fri., July 12th, the Miller Family, along with DMACC President Rob Denson, DMACC Foundation Executive Director Tara Connolly and water industry officials, will host a ribbon cutting to dedicate the new lab space. 

WHAT:

The new DMACC Water Environmental Technology (WET) Lab is open and hosting students enrolled in the College's water and wastewater treatment programs. The highly flexible, state-of-the-art lab allows students to evaluate and test water sources and characteristics, examine the lab procedures of water treatment facilities, and learn about lab certification requirements, among other training elements.

WHY

Technicians are in high demand across the country today. The DMACC Water Environmental Technology (WET) program prepares students to operate and maintain a certified water treatment facility. Students can earn a two-year AAS degree or a one-year diploma or certificate. The WET program is currently enrolling students for the Fall 2024 semester. Learn more at wet.dmacc.edu
