Postseason honors continue to roll in for DMACC's Courtney Donahue.
The sophomore from Marshfield, Wis., has earned Academic All-American honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The organization's Academic All-Americans were announced on June 26th.
Donahue was recognized in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II softball category,
The recognition comes on the heels of a host of honors Donahue has earned this spring. She has been named an NJCAA Division II All-American, the TUCCI/NFCA NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Year and an NFCA NJCAA Division II First Team All-American.
Earlier this spring, Donahue was named to the NJCAA All-Region Softball Team and was named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Pitcher of the Year. She led NJCAA Division II and the ICCAC in strikeouts with 386. She also led the ICCAC in wins with 26 and in earned run average at 0.94. Donahue ranked third in NJCAA Division II in ERA and tied for third in wins. Her 386 strikeouts were 103 more than any other softball pitcher in NJCAA Division II.
Donahue, who pitched 12 shutouts and several perfect games, was 26-4 in 2024 and helped the DMACC softball team to a 47-11 record and the Bears' 10th consecutive appearance in the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series. She pitched 186 and two-thirds innings, allowing 32 runs, 25 earned runs, on 73 hits. Donahue struck out 386 batters, walked 31 and averaged 14.48 strikeouts per seven innings. She boasted a .56 WHIP (walks and hits per innings pitched).
Donahue has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Missouri and play softball while continuing her education.
