Purpose
As a candidate for membership on the Student Activities Council of the Des Moines Area Community College, you are responsible for all Student Activities Council Regulations.
As the primary student representative body, the student Activities Council promotes college spirit, provides a focal point for discussions between students and college staff, and gives students a representative voice in college affairs. This government body is of student activity fees. With these funds, the Council plans activities and provides services to enhance the social, personal, and professional life of Des Moines Area Community College students.
There are six Student Activities Councils representative of the six campuses of Des Moines Area Community College. The Student Activities Council's on each campus will adhere to these guidelines and procedures.

Eligibility and Requirements for Membership
- Must be enrolled as a Des Moines Area Community College student with a paid activity fee.
- Must be in good academic standing (2.0 cumulative grade point average or above at the institution). Does not apply to newly-enrolled students.
- Must not be under current disciplinary action.
Student Activities Council
The Student Activities Council will be made up of a mix of club representatives, at-large members, and on-campus housing representatives if applicable. Larger clubs will be responsible for one representative to serve on the Student Activities Council. On-Campus housing residents will elect one for every one hundred residents or fraction thereof to serve on housing on Student Activities Council. At-large members will be selected to serve on SAC after filling out an at-large application and will gain voting rights after attending two consecutive SAC meetings. If a vacancy occurs in an at-large or on-campus housing position during the semester, the position may be filled at the Coordinator's discretion.
All approved clubs are responsible to select one representative to serve on the Student Activities Council at Ankeny, Boone, Carroll, Newton, Urban, and West Campuses.
